Dragonborn after Dawnguard

Post » Thu Dec 19, 2013 5:22 pm

So I recently completed Dawnguard for the first time - and swore I would never, ever do it again. It may seem silly or trivial, but I just got completely burned out on both the Soul Cairn and the Forgotten Vale. Long before I was done with either instance quest-wise, I was "done" psychologically. Still not sure why, since I'm a free-ranging explorer in Skyrim proper, but there it is.

Anyway, I'm now hesitant to do Dragonborn because of that experience in Dawnguard. Maybe I'm talking to the wind, but if there's anyone out there who felt similarly about Dawnguard and completed Dragonborn, I'd appreciate any feedback on how the two compare.

Trust me. There are no dungeons (maybe 1 that overlaps) that are as long as those in Dawnguard. You won't be burned out. The dungeons in DB are far more interesting and unique than DG.

Just out of curiosity, was this your first time playing through the Dawnguard questline? Im only asking because the first time I did it, I got so lost in the Forgotten Vale and Soul Cairn, but by the next time I played it was much easier and felt alot smoother like it didnt take forever.

I too felt this way haha (I avoid doing DG with every character I make now, finished it once, and I'll never play it again)

DB has none of the long areas like the soul cairn or the Forgotten vale, it's much better and less of a chore than DG imo.

Dragonborn is amazing.

Because it's Morrowindy.

(Yes, that is now a word.)

There's so many things about it that are just pure awesome, but I don't want to spoil it.

(Okay, you can get throwable spiders. YES. YOU GET SPIDER GRENADES.)

Yeah, big areas hurt. I think it's less draining if you just focus on your objectives the first time through, and worry about fully exploring later.
