Looking for some direction on Lore reading...

Post » Fri Dec 20, 2013 9:05 am

Hey all, I have played elder scrolls since Morrowind in 2006 +/- I switched into oblivion and then onto skyrim.

I never actually engaged the game past the in your face run through that you can adjust to your own personal role play consideration.

I also happen to be a severe character remake person, and to be honest I hit quite a snag in Skyrim after basically beating it a few times over.

I want to run through Morrowind -- Main quest line as a Mage I want to be able to actually invest into my character based on in world lore age/religion/races/world history insights...

I dont think I will run Oblivion again, but I am ultimately trying to discipline myself from a pure Morrowind Experience, and transfer that into a Character of the Skyrim world.

Could anyone carve me a path of insightful lore to go beyond the generic consideration of a character build, and really get inline with the game as it exists?

Would appreciate the reinvigoration of the game

Check out the sticky at the top of this forum.

If there's anything in particular you'd like help finding, we'd be happy to help.

Yeah, if you give us an general idea of the kind of character you want to create, we could help you more with the lore side of things. It sounds like you're interested in doing a bit more of a role-play, if I'm understanding correctly?

Like I said I never invested much passed the direct in game presence. So every character I make is pretty much shaped out of any true quality from me chasing in game content off of my memory.

I plan on playing Morrowind in what I hope is a pure disciplined character build. Anything that can give me the dimension of all races religion and world conflict that leads into being apart of morrowind would be awesome.

I want to be able to start my character on a new level of intrigue based to the story of the game at large, rather than chasing the item to item prize.

I seem to be digging through a pile of rubble with Skyrim at this point, I want to build a pyramid instead.

So specifically Pre-Morrowind/Morrowind related world view of the people and gods would be excellent.

I am not looking for a full history lesson from you, rather the content I should approach, in a digestible manner for game quality experience. The A-Z if you will..

Everyone should start with the glory of the lessons.

I protest this assertion.

Seriously, you start with the sermons and it informs the worldview of many Dunmer. It is something that is completely open to interpretation. Plus the other books seem so much more sane in comparison.
