How high do you play ?

Post » Fri Dec 20, 2013 10:00 pm

I have only played 1x to a point where I thought the game was no longer a challenge.I made the mistake of using mods that eventually unbalanced the game....so I stopped playing.

I reciently purchased DAWNGUARD and HEARTHFIRE...I use the SKYRE mod and some visual enhancing mods .

How high do you typically take a character before you feel they are not really challenged by the world of SKYRIM ?

I play a character until I feel that character's story has been told. I don't play for "challenge."

^^ This is really it right here. I dont do every quest for my characters, only the ones that pertain to my character's RP and background. They can be done at level 20 or level 80.

This. Usually, that happens somewhere between lvl 45-55. Seems like I level faster and faster for each game though, maybe current character will be the first to break the 60 barrier, who knows? I very much doubt I'll ever take a character to 81 and beyond, though.

When the game begins to feel too easy, I increase the difficulty. Sometimes I lower it again if I want to get through some quests faster for one reason or another.

sort of this, though because of several things (exploring random stuff, crafting, etc), most of my characters tend to be around level 30 before the first big questline is complete and i almost always do multiple. My highest character (and who is still going) is my Bosmer Cleric who is around level 55 and still has Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and the Falaskar mod AT LEAST before any thoughts of being "Complete".

Sometimes extremely high, sometimes completely sober...

....oh what? You were talking about levels? So was I, with ale and mead.

Highest level I've had is around 60, but I'm not done with that character yet.

+1

I've only had one character get to level 81 because I wanted to fight the ebony warrior, my characters usually finish up their stories by lvl 40 or maybeee 50.

Well yes kind of play the character's story, but also the story of Skyrim all that is there to discover, once it's all been discovered, or pretty well, I then feel done. I'm not a player that chooses a different character to play. My one character is constantly evolving in development, and to be honest, repeating the game with different character would be a bit of a bore for me. I suppose that means that I'm more into the world exploration rather than different character role-play.

Misread the title

I play until their job is done and for most of my characters, level 40 or so is usually their cap.

With me, the game has to stay challenging in order for me to stay interested. I must feel like the game can always take my life at any given moment. I will not enjoy the game if I'm one-shotting everything.

Formerly, I used to start on Novice and adjust the difficulty when things were getting too easy. Naturally, when playing Skyrim your character seems to advance faster than the difficulty can catch up, if you're only focusing on your offensive and defensive capabilities.

Right now, I am playing on Legendary and going VERY slow. I'm only level 3 so I'm taking every precaution necessary in order to be successful at the game. Because the difficulty allows a change from 1/4 damage from you while the enemy is bringing 3x damage as normal, it is enough to keep me challenged to go forever.

I've learned through my experiences though, not to rush through the quests. It's better to take your time and stop by every dungeon before venturing forward. Once all of the quests are done, there's really nothing to do, so stopping to complete the dungeons and enjoy the scenery helps me play longer.

Depends. But on the characters I enjoy, I end up retiring them around level 50 or so.

This. A few of my characters use the sneak to level 100 in helgen trick so they can buy that house in Dawnstar.

But other than that, most of my characters end up staying at around level 20, others don't even go above level 10.

Like many have said, It doesn't end until your character's story is complete. If im a warrior for example, I play until I get all of the daedric artifacts pertaining to warriors, I join the asociated factions (companions and such), and I usually wait untill i'm 100 in all warrior skills. It depends on what type of character your's is, and if you want to make it a RP character or if you just play to level up (aka. don't focus on the story). Whenever their time has come *buddhist monk voice* :twirl:

Most mods I use are lore friendly armor and weapons. Nothing over powered. I also use body mods, body textures, warpaints and hair mods. I'll use texture mods for environmental changes. Nothing that makes the game easy by any means.

That being said I don't usually play a character past lv 64. Just to over powered and no fun.
