We have heard that you can pick up enemy weapons. We don't know much beyond that.

There has to be some order to it, to address the multiple bodytypes - like if a Light tried to pick up a minigun. They did mention that picking up weapons off the battlefield, is kinda like a last resort tactic, since they will yeild little ammo in them.

As far as swapping weapons, each player gets a primary and secondary weapon, but these can be changed at command posts. Classes are not locked into using certain weapon, so players can use any gun they want, as long as your bodytype can use it.

Swapping weapons would become quite viable for soldiers, if their resupply gives full ammo like it seems. Then, if you wanted to pick up a shotgun to change tactics on the front lines, you would just have to grab one off the ground and self-buff.

You would assume this to be true but who knows? :intergalactic:

The only ammo you get is that what's still left in the gun. Let say you kill someone with 25bullets in his gun and 120 extra ammo (to reload), if you pick up his weapon, you only get the 25 bullets with it.

No, I don't think this is how it works. Miniguns can hold 200 round clips, and possibly more with different magazines, that isn't exactly "low ammo." I'm thinking it is more like a last ditch effort thing - where guns on the battlefield may be enough for to kill a couple guys at max.

Dysfunction is correct, you get whatever is left in the gun when the person drops it. With your minigun example, 200 rounds could get chewed up pretty quickly, and only heavies could pick it up. Not to mention that the heavy who dropped it would've had to die with a full clip, which seems like it would be uncommon.

Gonna have to take my word for it on this one (or not), it was from one of the dozens of impromptu interviews done by websites over the past few months. They said that when you pick up a gun, you only get whatever ammo is left in the gun itself.

Everything I said about the minigun is just speculation, but the fact that heavy weapons are only available to heavies seems like common sense, so the large clips are balanced out. And unless you think heavy players will make a habit of dying before they can get a shot off, i doubt you will be finding many with a full clip.

It also worked that way in previous SD games, so it's likely that they will keep it this way. Shadow's right, I also read it in one the x amount of interviews during the convention period.

While tactically I agree with you with the low ammo. But with all the customization I like to "take a drink of of what ever they are having".. Especially if it happens to be a "higher level" player with more options on their weapon.. and like what xShadowcat said hopefully the soldiers are staying on top of their ammo replenish duties..

And from the videos, it seems like experience gain from resupplying is based off of the amount of ammo they give you, so soldiers should enjoy the chance to throw you a ton of ammo after you pick up a gun, as long as you aren't doing it so often as to use up all of their action points.

I love that you "throw" aides. There are so many games I wish I could throw a syringe at my friends as a medic.

The interesting thing they are doing with Medics, is making them operate completley opposite from how they traditonally operate and from the other classes. Here is what a dev said about them, and me being a Medic player for many years, found interesting.

Medics work in reverse to the other classes; their buffs are close proximity, and their interactions over downed players is ranged, whereas it's opposite for Soldiers and Operatives (Engineers as well, but they have no interactions with downed players specifically, they just hide mines under them).

Whether actually tossing them a revive or ammo, or having to get close and shank them with a healing syringe, it will be a preferable to chucking supplies and med packs onto the ground and hoping that your teammate notices.

Thats the thing - as far as I know, there are no medpacks. Healing/buffing are sort of one in the same, and require you to stick teammates with a syringe/epipen. Like I said above, Medics work opposite of how they usually do - revives are ranged, heals are up close.

Is that meant in a good, or in a bad way?

I know the Medic in Team Fortress doesn't throw syringes as a friendly action.

Don't forget about the lazarus grenade.. the animations for that should be interesting and it will make up for that time I tried to use a "medical RPG" on a teammate..
