After trying out several different combat overhauls, I've settled on a combination of Combat Remastered (much for its perk overhaul) and Duel Combat 7 (loading after CR so I get DC's combat changes). I like it a lot, especially on lower levels, but after c. Lvl 30 my char almost feels godlike, making the game rather boring (I say almost as my Lvl 37 char still can get one-hit killed by high level enemies).
So I wonder how you guys make it so the game feels more congruent over time? I am using Skyrim Immersive Creatures, Deadly Dragons and High Level Enemies - all of which helps a lot in making the game more challenging.
But Dragons is a good example. Normally I use the special perks and up their armor rating etc. And they are quite balanced up to Lvl 20 or something, challenging but not insanely so. But after Lvl 30 they are almost a joke, easily killed with a couple of power attacks. So I don't want a mod that makes Dragons insanely difficult - rather one that balances the difficulty better when leveling up. I tried the easiest version of ERSO's dragon overhaul a while ago, but found the very first dragon you kill annoyingly hard (plus it killed Vilja).
I've considered Skyrim Unleashed, which seems to do just that (except for dragons). I think I'll try its leveling and NPC plugins. What do you guys think of it? And do you have other tips on plugins prolonging challenging gameplay w/o being overtly hard core? (EDIT: OK, it seems I need to use Skyrim Unleasheds crafting plugin, which I don't want, if using Immersive Armors, which I want - so I guess it's out.)
