Requiem + follower mods

Post » Tue Dec 24, 2013 3:40 am

I've been playing & enjoying Requiem for a bit, but it occurs to me I'd like to see what all the fuss is about some of these follower mods. The big 2 I've been seeing mentioned are UFO and AFT.

I'm most interested in being able to give more detailed follower commands, have them ride horses with my character, and use/wear appropriate gear.

Does anyone have any sense of which of these mods works best with Requiem, if there are any conflicts.... or have any other suggestions for follower mods in general?

Eventually I might be interested in picking up one or two companion mods, in addition to just overhauling the vanilla followers. Any recommendations in that vein would be appreciated too.

What followers are you looking for? Someone alone or a bunch of companions, like I have installed, I have never tried requiem but I use the U.F.O mod and I have over 16 companions who are by my side in all my battles throughout skyrim.

Well, I'm not necessarily looking to assemble a small army. At most I think I'd travel with 3 companions, but most of the time I might have just one or two (humanoid) followers.

I guess my goal would be to feel like an actual 'adventuring party', rather than always just feeling like one guy with his manservant following him around. Sometimes I want to play a support mage, just hanging back and buffing, healing, doing a bit of spell-sniping. It seems like UFO & AFT add some neat functions and ways to command your followers so they can assume more of a clear role in combat, if that makes sense.

If you have all the DLC I find that AFT is more stable and gives you more options on the follower. Some features I do turn off is the shared experience gain for the skills they use.You can limit the number of followers to 3.

Yeah, I think I was leaning towards AFT.

Do you know if it plays well with Requiem?

AFT works very well with it from my experience. Just load it after Requiem.

Cool, thanks. Why load after Requiem, out of curiosity?

AFT might work if loaded before Requiem but load after in case there are some scripts regarding followers that conflict. I gave up on AFT as it gets to be pretty script heave, especially if you have outfit management and a lot of followers, and Requiem is pretty script heavy itself. But if your game runs smooth with it, it is pretty good. EFF is the alternative to it. As for Requiem without other spawn adding mods, it is ideal to play solo or at max one follower.
