Yes. Just choose "Unpack all" when doing to BSA unpacking with OBMM. When uppacking the Oblivion - Meshes.bsa file you should end up with 3 folders...

Meshes
Trees
Distant LOD

Just right click on the meshes folder and choose "Optimize with PyFFi"

Or

you could unpack the Oblivion - Meshes.bsa to the "In" folder within the PyFFi installation location. Once unpacked there, you would need to right click on the Oblivion_optimise.ini file to run the "Optimise with PyFFi" option on the files you placed within the "in" folder.

Either way should work according to the latest PyFFI update.

Okie dokie that's what I did. It's still doing it in a command promt. So then afterwards I use OBMM's BSA creator to make a BSA with the Optimized meshes, name it "Oblivion - Meshes", then replace the one that's being used in my Data folder?
Sorry for the constant questions, I haven't been able to find an instructions page anywhere.

No Worries man... We all had to ask the same questions at the beginning of this PyFFing stuff.
Yes, just replace the current Oblivion - Meshes.bsa file. I would back it up first just to play it safe.
Don't forget to re-pack the Trees and Distant LOD folders too. When re-packing with OBMM, be sure to choose Uncompressed. It should be the default option.
Uncompressed .bsa files have been tested to show better performance. (Less workload on your CPU)

K... It's still doing it. And it's only on the castle folder in Architectures..... This will take all night at the very least.
I noticed it's only using one of my cores, I have a Pentium D, which svcks, but it's still a dual core processor. Is there any way I can enable dual core use? And if I can, is it safe to do it while it's still PyFFI'ing meshes?

In the default.ini file there is this line...

[options]
; set this to the number of cores you have
jobs = 2

Not sure if you can edit this while it is PyFFing your meshes though. It probably wouldn't take effect until you start the process over. But yah, it will take probably all night. Sorry man.

That's correct. Any INI changes won't take effect until you restart PyFFI.

Looks like the post limit has been reached. I'll hold this spot to add the link to the next topic in case Amorilia or PacificMorrowind can't do so before this gets closed.

Alright, my comp is in the process of PyFFIing my meshes, and it's the first time I've ever done this. I backed up my whole meshes folder, and then used the automation tool on the one in my data folder. In hindsight I probably should have run it on the back up copy. I want to use this time (It's been running for half a day now) to start learning the CS. Would it be a bad idea to play around in that while the process is running?

Thanks!

EDIT: I forgot to ask, when it comes to going over the BSA Oblivion Meshes, I have BSA commander to unpack them, but I see everyone saying to use OBMM. Does it make a difference really? and as I repack, they should not be compressed?
