Freezing+buzzing noise, but FPS is always great

Post » Sat Dec 28, 2013 8:37 am

It might take 5 minutes, it might take two hours, but my game freezes and makes a buzzing noise eventually every time I play. I can't ctl-alt-del to get out of it or anything, I always have to shut my laptop off. My FPS is always just fine and never stutters or slows down at all. It's only in the past few months this problem has been happening. I used to be able to run Skyrim just fine. Anyone know what's going on?

Try updating your sound device drivers. If you are using an external device (such as USB headphones or a USB Soundblaster) try using regular headphones with the mini jack and switch back to the onboard device respectively.

Okay, I use regular headphones with the headphone jack. When I found the drivers in control panel and attempted to update all three of them it said they were all up to date already. Is there anything else I should do?

Not that I'm aware of, whenever I play skyrim it's the only thing I have running. I play on mid to high settings with good FPS and everything. Changing the settings up just makes my crosshairs lag behind my mouse and changing them down does nothing, maybe makes it run a bit better but it's not a noticeable difference. As far as I know all my drivers are up to date. Could it be a mod causing this problem? Also, how could I check for potential background programs that I can't see?

The noise happens only if you have your headphones attached to your laptop ????

...and that particularly problem happens only with skyrim ????
