Hearthfire House Item Issue

Post » Mon Dec 30, 2013 12:19 pm

Nothing in my display cases every stay put. Every time I walk in all my ingredients and things have managed on the [censored] floor.

So I gave up on trying to decorate my home because at this point, this is just getting frustrating

One is supposed to put the stuff on the floor, then leave or go into the cellar. When you come back, place said item where you want them. Leave again and come back and see if they are still where you put them.

Yeah they're pretty messed up. I've done what Ashley suggested and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Seems like it doesn't work most of the time. What's the point of cases if you can't put anything in them to display? I basically just gave up on them.

Another complaint I have is that there is only one way to design your house. That's fine for the architect and for the arcane or alchemy lab function thingies. However! My house belongs to an assassin, I want to be able to put Black Brotherhood banners in my house and have spooky lights and spooky music.

Which I can do eventually by leading people into my home and killing them in the cellar, but still.

I'm sure there's a mod for that if you're on the PC. The DLC was really cheap so I tend not to complain about it, aside from the display cases.

One of the things that I have found if I have a "jumping" problem is leaving the area ( cell ), with the stuff that I wish to place. Return, place or drop one item, leave and go back, see if it "jumps", place it where you want it and leave again. IF it jumps a second time, then I try a different item.

I have placed items in Lakeview manor without any problem, they "jumped" once and I placed them and they have stayed. That includes dolls on shelves, butterfly jar on table, enchanted Orcish ax in display case, Horker tusks in display case, enchanted knives in display cases ( these will change as I get other things) and flowers in the basket I picked up in Helgen, along with "extra" copies of books on shelves and tables. The only item I have an issue with is a statue of Dibella that I haven't gotten upright yet... I will, I have three in Honeyside standing upright on a different character...I'm nothing if not stubborn.

I had a bunch of stuff displayed in the cases/weapon racks, only to find everything on the floor after returning from a lengthy trip to Solstheim. I don't know why the Hearthfire houses have different display cases than the regular Skyrim houses. I stopped using the display cases in the Hearthfire houses and put everything in chests that I couldn't display in the other, non dlc houses.
