NCR and supermutants

Hi, I haven't played FO2 in years (lost the disk etc), but since it became free on GOG I downloaded it and I am now replaying it.

To the topic: if you talk to president Tandi, she gives you a holodisk about NCR and there it states that all people, humans or supermutants are eligible to obtain citizenship in NCR. In New Vegas however I got the feeling that supermutants (even friendly as in Jacobstown) are considered a threat. Is there any info about the relationship between supermutants and NCR during the time New Vegas takes place?

Are there any supermutant citizens in NCR? If not, what changed? NCR seemed to welcome them with open arms during the time FO2 took place.

I don't think they are taken as a threat in New Vegas, just as undesirables. There has to be some type of good standpoint about them in the NCR because they wanted to use mercenaries to take them out instead of just marching their soldiers through. So I guess the politicians don't like them.

I wouldn't say they were welcomed with open arms in Fallout 2 either. I remember a ranger super mutant but that was it. To me it is more like we'll take who we can get in order to keep growing and to show our power.

The NCR has no institutionalized support or persecution of mutant minorities, if that's what you're asking. What it does have, however, are different kinds of people in its population of 700,000. Among them you will have people like Elise, the Ranger Chief, who look beyond mere appearances at the person inside, and people like Senator Morales and the http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Mean_Sonofabich.

It's life. If a supermutant behaves themselves, chances are they're a welcome citizen. Hell, from what we know, http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Dayglow.
