The pricing model and trying it out

Post » Tue Dec 31, 2013 8:36 pm

Hey all,

Played Morrowind and Skyrim so I wouldn't say I am a hardcoe player of Elder Scrolls. Loved both titled and I am intriqued by the coming MMO. Currently play LOTRO and GW2 both have strengths and weaknesses but looking for a better pvp experience. The fact that EOS has a great pedigree is part of the draw. Ive looked around and the pricing model I found was 60 for 30 days then a 15 sub fee.

That's fine but outside of the beta (which I applied for) I cant find any details on how a casual like me can try it out before committing. Any word on a trial at launch?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

There will be an open beta before launch, and I'm sure a trial after launch, though it has not been announced.

Thanks for the reply. In my small MMO circle there are approx. 10-15 people who want to try Elder Scrolls MMO but want a sample before committing to a subscription. We'll keep an eye out for open beta/trial.

Yeh, open beta is your best chance to try it out.

Just to clarify, the trial has not been confirmed (just reasoning that one on my own since it makes no sense for them not to offer one after the game's been out a bit), but open beta has been confirmed right before launch.

I'd be very surprised if there weren't some kind of free trial offer after launch. They'd be missing out on a lot of potential subs if there wasn't one.

Also, there's a rumor I heard that if you buy the game then you get the first month free of the subscription fee.

But that's just a rumor, I haven't read anything confirming or denying that, so take it with a grain of salt.

This is usually what most MMOs do, the $60 you spend includes the $15 you would spend for the first month.

There should be an Open Beta at least a month before the game is launched. There has been no inclination to believe that there will be a trial period after the game is released, but I would assume that ZOS might do some type of trial period (free weekend or something of that nature).
