I have realized an implication in Skyrim, that really really irritated me.

So, Bethseda takes spellcrafting out for the Players. But there have been to incidents:

-Ja zargo asked me to help test a scroll he made

-Another apprentice asked me to test a spell she made, that dark elf lady

So wait, a minute. So we the Player cannot spellcraft, but NPCs can.

Yea, It would've been cool if we could craft spells and such.

Yeah, but I still like Spellcraft and it was my favorite thing to do in the other games.

Because Bethesda's too lazy to give us what we are accustomed to in earlier games and they had to make their stupid release date.

They definitely have to bring it back should TES VI take place in Alinor.

See I have the legendary addition. I was waiting till the game had most of it's official patches and all the DLC. But this game, especially on the PS3, is extremely buggy still. My PS3 crashes during autosaves or if it's trying to load an area I just fast traveled to. My PS3 freezes or has a frame rate drop whenever I am in Snow Flurries. This game is extremely buggy for it having been patched.

Then the lack of spellcrafting on top of the Hearthfire issues I have.

I will likely get flamed for saying this, but spell crafting would not work in Skyrim..

Why?

because of the way the Implemented the Magic System.. sure it worked in Oblivion , but then all you had to do was press C (was it C?) and there were only really three types of spells "Touch", "Target", and "Self"

Skyrims Magic system is more "cinematic" if you will, with casting animations and such.. and every spell has its own unique Animation (for example Ice Spike and frost bite look completely different).. while in Oblivions system, all Frost target spells looked the same with the same animation, as did all frost touch spells, same with Fire.. or Lightning.. or damage health.. etc..

as such, player crafted spells would feel very out of place, and really couldn't be implemented very well in Skyrim at all.....

yeah, they sacrificed spellcrafting to make it look a bit prettier, IMO that is a terrible trade-off.

EDIT: even then, all spellcrafting was for the most part was changing strength and length and combining it. For example, making a stronger fireball spell that also did shock damage would be quite fesible fir example. They would have to lmit the combo's like they did with Enchanting but it coudl still be done. I THINK there was actually a spellcrafting mod at one point, but it was in beta and very buggy.

I disagree. Cause technically you have "three animations" for spells too:

Desruction

Spikes

Or Streams or Sprays [for fire and electric]

Runes

^Easy

Alteration and the rest are practically the same, raise your arm and cast spell.

Except for conjuration which is point at ground, boom summon.
