You AREN'TARE relevant.

This is a discussion about PvP in Cyrodiil.

Now I do understand in 1v1, 2v2, 3v1, heck, even 10v10 small group battles, you as a player will feel relevant to the battle field. You will actually see that you can make a change and affect the out come of the battle.

But, how does this translate into mas pvp with hundreds of players.

Can 1 person, be very OP/skilled that he will essentially be a powerhouse and be noticed in the huge battle field. Or will all the skill/talent you have be easily overlooked in a huge battle.

I really do hope that PvP has some aspect of skill that players can build off of.

Like, I would love to have it to where 1 maxed out level 50 who is a war god and battle genius be able to take down 3 maxed out level 50's who have been doing PvE all their life and aren't really 'PvP' skilled.

Ideas? Opinions? Discuss below.

There is more than one way to be relevant in a battle.

Short answer is yes. Long answer is yes also, because the majority of people are honestly just not very good players.

This.

From what we've heard, Emperors will also make a very large difference in battle as well.

Of course, I just gave an example of maybe slaughtering multiple enemies as they attempt to gang up on you.

I just want there to be a very deep amount of skill/knowledge for PvP, if it is something that can be mastered in 1 month it will not be as valued.

Some of the most popular and played games today are based around skilled and valued pvp. I hope that zenimax did it right :D

That's a given for emperor.

I just hope that a player who isn't emperor can be so skilled and have so much pvp "talent" to the point where he stands out from the rest (not literally, but when it comes to helping the alliance in kills, steals, and support)

1v3 will be as possible as it was in other MMORPGs.

4v24 may be possible, but imho if 1 player gets hit by 18 other players (even if they are noobs) he should be killed, otherwise there's something wrong with the game mechanics.

I completely agree with you.

I just want it to be possible for players to individually be able to have small to big effects on the outcome of the battle if they are skilled enough.

1v18 would be ridiculous. 1v5, I can see that happening and hope it happens.

If in a 50 vs 50 guild battle, 1 player sneaks behind enemy lines and destroys one of their siege weapons and turns the tides. Or if a healer skillfully avoids being killed and becomes the play changer of the battle by healing a huge amount during the battle.

I'm sure that during a huge battle, we hope that we can pull off something "heroic"

In DAoC I was a dedicated lone wolf. I would often tie up enemy groups for long periods of time by sniping and running, leading them into enemy mobs, etc. This gave our main forces time to set up good defenses or counter offenses that otherwise would have failed. So yes. People CAN make a difference. Whether or not anyone KNOWS you made a difference is another issue entirely. If you want to be the ONE. TRUE. HERO. of Cyrydel then either work at being VERY good...or go play one of the single player games. Otherwise, you'll probably be like most of the rest of us...unknown.
