Common facts you think people know.

I was surprised when nobody in a room full of people could tell me why there were 365 days in a year. It seems like such common knowledge, and the people I was hanging out with are, by no means stupid or drunk.

Has this ever happened to anyone else with any other facts or supposed paradigms?

Ive had people claim, adamantly, that human blood is blue until its exposed to oxygen. My god. I didnt even know it was possible to be that ignorant of biology.

Lel just tell them about hypodermic needles.

People don't know much about oldish movies. Weird. A girl didn't even know who Harrison Ford was.

That's kind of a strange question to ask without context. There are cultural influences as well. The calendar is as insane as it is arbitrary.

"How often does the calender leap a leap year"? More concise for a trivia question off the cuff.

Actually...

"Time, you're drunk. Go home".

That's almost impossible to believe. But I did meet this horseshoe crab once that was adamant about blood being red until it oxidized blue. Silly horseshoe crab.

I'm routinely surprised by how few people know about the http://australianmuseum.net.au/Drop-Bear outside of Australia.

Calendars are different for different cultures, Ethiopia has 13 months a year instead of 12.

This is because blue veins are commonly shown on diagrams to differ the types of ways blood flows through the body. Combine this with seeing blue veings under the skin, and people will make assumptions. It isn't hard to see why this is a common misconception.
