Survivalist Perk

Post » Thu Jan 02, 2014 12:32 pm

IDK if the PC modders have already done this, but I am on a console.

It be nice if we had a set of survival perks. I am all up for a hardcoe, realistic mode for Skyrim. And that should come with a new perk tree, Survival. Which has to do with cooking.

Cause right now I'm playing Felicia, and she won't be visiting the holds never ever ever. She doesn't even have gold, she collects what's from the Earth. She doesn't even really concern herself with people. Then again though she's a total BAMF too, she kills whoever crosses and gets really jealous of any other woman whom she feels is threatening her. She just don't give a flying....

The only issue is I really see cooking as a waste of time. Instead of health potions, I have food, but the problem is....eh. What's the point? The survival skill perks, however, would be cool. Like food gets extra points, maybe find your own recipes by combing different food together. Maybe even after a while wild animals do not run from you or something.

Be kind of cool.

Not a complaint. Just...want more <---always want more

Theres isn't a survival skill, so there isn't survival related perks. What do you think this is Fallout New Vegas (a much superior RPG though not in my favorite genre or setting)?

What do you think Skyrim is? a bad copy trying to use the same playstyle as TES with a bunch of mostly useless things to choose at level up? New Vegas does not have a "survival skill" either BTW.......

And yes there is a mod called "realistic needs and diseases". reason it was not implemented into TES is because of the few people who would care enough to actually use the feature. It would take to long to create it for little gain.

A good action adventure game, but a bad RPG. It cant be a copy of TES seeing how its set in the TES universe, but I find it a bad TES game.

I was talking about New vegas. It was obviously just made mostly to be a more futuristic/urban version of TES, and failed at the RPG part, good game, but a failure of an RPG.

Lulwut? The first Fallout came out three years after Arena, so in no way is Fallout "trying" to copy TES. And if you think FNV failed at being a RPG I question your taste and experience in RPGs.

irrelevant
the first fallout was nothing like FO3 or FO:NV

Fallout was an "overhead view" RPG, similar to Diablo

once Beth got a hold of the rights, they attempted to mirror many TES gameplay elements in a more futuristic, Post-apocalyptic setting..

Go play FO3/NV, and then Oblivion, and you will see just how similar they truly are.

I've played both and its not Fallout's fault that Bethesda is greedy, trying to make Fallout TES with guns. Regardless FNV does a better job of being a TES game than Skyrim.

Excuse me.

FNV was far better than Fallout 3.

The story was thoroughly involved and Obsidian polished everything Bethseda's been leaving out of their games for a long long while now. Faction armors, your choices impact the way people see you, etc.

And I personally liked the hardcoe mode of New Vegas. It's was a unique feature in a RPG.

Skyrim Redone mod has some survival related perks if you have Frostfall mod installed. Frostfall adds options to make the weather of Skyrim harsh and deadly and SkyRe (Skyrim Redone) has made a lot of changes to the core gameplay of Skyrim.

[edit]

FNV was a good game so is FO3, I prefer FO3

This is a brilliant idea. I always RP sleeping and eating food anyway but this would be really cool.

Looks like alchemy with a different name. Not actual surviving skills

Reading your posts, I think you'd get a lot more out of playing on PC. I don't see a hardcoe mode ever being made for TES in its vanilla version, but they did it in Fallout, so what do I know?

I am on console as well, and if I'm doing a character like the one you described, I just imagine it. Poverty, sandbox role-playing.

I am imagining it. It just be nicer if it would. Since Felicia rarely uses her dagger, she has to use Calm Illusion spell so the wild doesn't run from her so she can collect their meat.

Yes, because being able to prepare food out or make medicine from materials you find growing in the wild are definitely not survival skills.

If you don't mind me asking, what would you consider to be survival skills?

IF you go by that, Skyrim DOES have that, the Alchemy tree and cooking, it is the same thing.

the Wayfarer tree from Skyre (which i do not use, but that is beside the point) is a fairly good example.
