I have always played a character that kills from a distance(range). I have wanted to play an assasin type. I have stealth of around 80 and never tried to backstab or kill from behind in many many levels(I'm level 27 or so and I play with the SKYRE mod). I followed some sugestion from an earlier post the other day and am investing in the stealth perk tree.I'm seeing a noticible difference in how close I can get to a target.Last night I snuck up right behind a target to see if I could do it, and was successful.The game then asked me if I wanted to pickpocket my target !!! WHAT !! I said to myself...where is the question DO YOU WANT TO ATTACK ...or whatever? I did attack anyway but was not excited with the results. I was arrmed..not with a dagger but a tanto(was the closes to a dagger I had on me).

Do you get diferent results with a dagger ? What am I not understanding ?

you stab them, you literally just attack them, there is no special option. Also, a tanto is from a mod and is just a dagger.

There wont be an option telling you if you want to kill someone. You just attack when sneaking and you do a stealth attack.

With SkyRe installed you will only get different options when you unlock the perks for knocking a victim out or killing them instantly if they are sleeping-but I still believe simply power attacking with your weapon while sneaking will perform the normal stealth attack. The other options will occur when you click the victim the same way you do for a pickpocket.

...even with 100% Sneak, the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Assassin%27s_Blade#Assassin.27s_Blade perk and their back to you, don't try dropping a Falmer Sir.

They can hear a spider's [censored] hair* drop on the ground 14 leagues away.

* Arcadia in Whiterun doesn't sell spider's [censored] hair so I haven't been able to test this to destruction.

There is a great mod called Sneak Tools on Nexus that gives you the option to slit peoples' throats when you sneak up behind them. You can also instantly kill sleeping npcs. The mod also has a store where you can buy rope arrows for scaling walls, oil and fire arrows, and water arrows for putting out torches. Essential for sneaky characters.

Nothing more satisfying as an assassin when you

. Just make sure to take the perk on the right side of the sneak tree that gives daggers 15x more damage when sneaking.
