I may have made a huge mistake.

My westernized Dunmer adventurer joined House Telvanni because he found himself in the area, he needed something to do, he wanted to fit in with local culture, and he knew the skills they favored matched his own set pretty well.

Three quests in, and he's ready to ditch those guys.

OK, a couple fetch quests, fine - he's currently just level 3, after all. But quickly these become not so much 'fetch' quests as 'kill that lady for her clothes' quests. (specifically, the first quest for Neloth. I basically did the 2 quests for his Mouth and then went directly to him.) I knew I'd run up against that sort of thing eventually, but damn!

How do I roleplay myself out of this? I don't think you can really abandon a House, apart from getting kicked out. Joining another House at this point is probably out of the question, which is fine since my character's skills don't really fit Hlaalu or Redoran anyway (he's a Battlemage premade class).

The thing is, the major questlines in Morrowind do give you a sense of purpose, so it's too bad. I don't feel like becoming Nerevarine with this character. He's not particularly religious, so the Temple and Imperial Cult are out. The Legion and Fighter's Guild aren't appealing. He's not a thief or an assassin.

I think I've got 2 or 3 options right now.

1 - Join the Mages' Guild, in the hopes that joining will increase their disposition somewhat and that I'll get some interesting quests.

2 - Just adventure around independently, in the hopes that I'll find cool stuff that will keep me occupied. I *have* heard some interesting rumors about the Bitter Coast region.

3 - Go back to Sadrith Mora and speak with the other Mouths, in the hopes that I'll be able to do a few more low-level Telvanni 'chores' that I find somewhat appealing.

What do you think?

Neloth is probably the least appealing of the Masters to work with if you don't care for that sort of thing. Therana requests that you make some distasteful decisions, but you can get out of most of those because she's crazy. Just do some other quests for the mouths, it should raise your faction rep enough to get better quests. Once you start doing stuff for Master Aryon, things will get a better. He's much classier than Neloth and most of the other Masters.
