I have the same problem, my username and password as used to login here do not work ingame. As such, I cannot play.

Yeah I cannot login to the in-game multiplayer using my credentials for this website. I put in the key that Steam gave me. It's worth noting that I installed this game today and never registered for gamesas.com. Maybe since that site is down the game is trying to log me into a place that no longer exists.
