List of "Safe" Dungeons and Locations - Does one exi

Post » Sat Jan 04, 2014 6:50 pm

As we all no doubt know the game is still one of the most bugged games in history and Bethesda seem to have no intention of fixing it further now that our money is in their bank. Rant over but one thing that really gets on my nerves is that I really love to explore dungeons all over whatever continent I'm on whenever I play an Elder Scrolls game for fun and to build up my skills, however in Skyrim this is sometimes a hindrance because I clear a certain location and then later on I'm asked to do a quest at this same location ("kill the leader of ???? cave" or "find the artifact in ???? ruin" etc) only to realise that the location is now permanently bugged and the item I'm supposed to retrieve or person I'm supposed to kill is not there or already dead.

This effectively breaks some questlines and means you have this quest stuck in your journal forever. This declares war on my OCD :stare:

So I'm wondering is there anywhere online where there is a complete definitive list of "safe" dungeons? What I mean by that is dungeons that I can clear and never have to worry about again, perhaps because they are unrelated to any other quest or misc quest. This would allow me to train, do missions for jarl as "work" to earn money and level up things such as my one handed skills without having to go toe to toe with giants for 5 seconds, running away and hiding like a sissy and then repeating

Or will I have to just check the wiki to see if the dungeon is related to any quest before I go there or accept a job from the jarl there etc?

Any containers in these dungeons are safe for storage, because they never respawn: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Skyrim-Places-Safe

No I don't mean for storage Pete. I mean dungeons which are safe to kill everyone in and fully explore i.e. "clear" without bugging a quest later on. Thanks anyway though. that's a good list.

Although that list does help sorry. Because that indicates what dungeons WILL cause problems which is good to know :D

I wonder if

Spoiler
Bleak Falls Barrow would do?? Does it re-spawn?? There is also the one you do where you have to rescue a person for the lady in Whiterun. Missing in Action it is called. I have never seen it re-spawn. Northwatch Keep.

I'm pretty sure it does, between every 10 - 30 days according to UESP. I remember going there once and listening to a couple of bandits have a conversation and then I went there MUCH later on and the same bandits were there having the same conversation again.

I've seen a lot of different lists such as safe storage locations, dungeon lockout locations but never a list where dungeons have no related quests/are safe to clear without messing up quests. I know I could look each one up individually and see if it has any related quests before I even go in there but I'm thinking sometimes the wiki or UESP may be wrong.

That tower never resets. Bleak Falls Barrow doesn't reset(it hasn't yet in my game at least).

Annoying thing about nearly all dungeons, is they are almost all tied to some quest.

I guess Beth was making up for how 90% of the dungeons in Oblivion were just there for show with no kind of back story or importance to the game.

Yes I agree completely. It just really limits your options for "training". I'd like to be able to go around and clear a few dungeons to level up and improve my skills a bit. Dragons are hard at level 1 - 5
