Slight Plot Inconsistency[Obvious Spoilers]

Post » Sat Jan 04, 2014 6:26 pm

I realize the Crysis series isn't exactly known for its seamless storytelling, but this visual inconsistency really bothered me.

Image

Shown in the intel footage before the chapter "Only Human", the CELL Scientist explains that Ceph Stage 3 entails opening an Einstein-Rosen bridge to the heart of the M33 galaxy. Only problem is, in the video, the Ceph Homeworld is shown to be located inside the Milky Way galaxy. Is there a legitimate reason for this, or was the animator seriously just oblivious to Crysis' story?

The CGI animator probably figured that the video sequence happens so quickly that no one would notice. If they had to show the M33 galaxy, perhaps the video would've been too long for the voiceover.

Agh I hate that. Cutting corners shite. I really liked that Crysis 3 retreated back to the intergalactic story that was set up in Crysis 1, but man there is so much lazy BS.
