2GB Crash?

Post » Sun Jan 05, 2014 11:23 am

After about 5-10 mins my Skyrim starts to use more than 2Gb of ram. This is ok but when I get to 2.5Gb I get a memory warning ,a few seconds later Skyrim will crash.

My pc specs,

Processor: Intel i5-3570k at 4.2GHz

Motherboard: AsRock Z77 Extreme 4

RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengance

GPU: 780 ti (EVGA SC ACX Cooler)

Storage: Samsung 840 SSD 250GB

WD Black 2TB Hard Drive

PSU: 750W Corsair CX750

I have used BOSS and TES5edit, I have also gone through each mod to check the load order.I am also using SKSE and every mod is working fine.I thought they changed Skyrim to allow 3.1GB?????

Post your load order, including texture replacers and SKSE plugins. Something is eating up your memory and fast.

Is there any way to copy and paste my load order?

Wrye Bash has a "List Mods" function in the Mods Tab context menu (right-click). I'm sure Mod Manager has a similar function, though I don't use it, so I don't know wehre it is.

If you are not using a mod manager, post the BOSS log.

looking at your specs and mods,

I would first try to use EnBoost from the nexus then use the FPS limiter.

i used to crash all the time until i did a few things, here's a post I made to someone else:

Is your Skyrim on your WD Caviar? If so, you may join my experiment here:

/

otherwise i will tell you how i just played for 6 hrs straight for the first time.

u need, if you dont has:

MSI Afterburner so your stuff aint dat melt

EnBoost on nexus, u also need enbseries, its practically the same thing.

In the enblocal.ini turn on the FPS Limiter. use the enbseries limiter, not something else. I would start at 55, cuz i found that stable.

If this doesn't work, you can try Safety Load, which is found on the nexus. or try safety load first. but it really only helps with the freezing and it WILL crash your game if you use SkyUI and certain other mods. no one has seemed to pin it down.

My RAM is down to 700MB but my V-RAM is up to 2.8MB still getting the crashes and error message: Close programs to prevent memory loss. Could it be the V-RAM as my 780 ti only has 3GB?

In addition to your load order above, what texture replacers are you using?

Chrome and I might have a youtube vid paused in the backround. Is the V-RAM the problem?

Yes.

Shut down all other programs while running your modded game. See if the problem persists.

try the light version of Skyrim HD. That should help out quite a bit on the V-Ram. You might not notice the drop in quality that much unless you are playing at super high resolution but at 1080p it should still look great.
