PS3 not reading disc, but will read all other discs

My brand new PS3 Super Slim absolutely refuses to read my copy of Fallout New Vegas. All other games, including ones that have worse scratches on them, work perfectly, but Fallout: New Vegas is pretty much off-limits to me because my PS3 doesn't like it. It worked in an in-store PS3(I got the game at a local Play-N-Trade), but not on mine. In fact, my PS3 which came from Sony 'directly'(purchased on QVC) will occasionally recognize it, but not often. And when it does, it installs, starts the game, and freezes on the Obsidian Entertainment logo. Always at the same time, and it's a hard-freeze, where it crashes the PS3 and forces it to reboot to XMB, where, lo-and-behold, the disc is, once again, unrecognized. Wondering if there's anything that can be done, as the blu-ray is working perfectly, so I know it's not that.

Also, one other thing. Crashes on startup(WAY before main menu, at Obsidian Entertainment logo or before) were why I decided to switch from PC FNV Ultimate to PS3 FNV Ultimate... If this isn't cleared up, I'll be furious with Bethesda and Sony.

Not that I'm not currently furious, but...

I personally love gamesas games, but in this case, I have to say that it's frustrating to find games that I like, but that hate me.

If anyone can help, I'd be extremely grateful.
