Bear traps are land mines for horses

Post » Sun Jan 05, 2014 12:53 pm

Yeah, so try running over one of those svckers on a horse and see what I mean...
They instantly kill your horse...
My Orc DB assassin found out the hard way right after getting a "free" horse from one of the stables with a hoard of guards right behind him.

I'm STILL discovering new things all the time, even after packing tons of hours into this game. one of the reasons I love this game.

Did you know you can "grab" bear traps, like you can "grab" any item?

You can basically create your own traps, for those pesky OP creatures.

And the funny thing is that there is no poacher who you could blame your horse's death upon.

When would you be riding a horse and activating a bear trap at once?

I've never once encountered such a moment, and I play as a Nord.

Everytime you play as a Nord, your chances of [censored] happening to you are increased tenfold because they are the superior race.

Are you trying to imply the Nords are absurd?

I'm implying that in your boasting you forgot to add 'lol jk' at the end of your assumption.

I thought Saruman was stripped of his Istari title.

Or is Istari a race? Ain't looked into LOtR terminology in a while.

I was watching a Let's Play a while ago. Guy left his horse behind to fight the bandits at the 'bridge' near Pinewatch. They'd released the boulder traps but were quickly despatched. Guy called his horse (via a mod), which came at a gallop, brushing ever-so-gently against the side of a boulder on the road.

Result - one expired nag, which was carrying a *lot* of loot ....... :bonk:

One of the "random encounters" is a toppled over wagon with a dead khajiit (not sure if its always a khajiit) and a dead horse a little way up the road with some scattered bear traps around them.

The plundered Khajiiti isn't a randomly-generated finding; the cart and the corpses will remain where they stand indefinitely.

Huh, we'll ill be damned. Well then I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But I'm sure there are plenty of bear traps laying around in skyrim just waiting for some dimwit on a horse to trot right over one

There are a couple more traps at http://images.uesp.net/3/37/SR-place-Hela%27s_Folly_02.jpg. Perhaps laid by him in order to protect his hoard.

 I LOVED that VIDEO, his reaction was hilarious, especially considering he was JUST talking about that. Best part was him using Werewolf form for the first time...as a way to not be over encumbered and Reach whiterun.

Will you please stop the Nord is the master race talk, you're sounding like a human Thalmor

Bear Traps ARE EVIL, and are liers, it is NEVER bears that get trapped.

Funny you should mention that. when I examined the horses body I notices that only one of his legs was bent all awkwardly.

I didn't know that storm call will still hit your horse if you are riding it.
