My intention of playing the game is to make a master mage. I'm having some trouble though...

Firstly, can you choose any faction no matter what your race is? That is where my problem is.

Secondly, can you still visit the other factions no matter which faction you're in?

I was thinking about going with a High Elf at first, but Breton would be my next choice. At least for a mage.

The High Elves are in the Aldmeri Dominion and they are ruthless. I have always chose a Breton, and they're in the Daggerfall Covenant. I suppose the DC not the worst faction to choose, but I would fit best in the Ebonheart Pact.

If you can choose any race and throw them in the faction you want to be in, then there will be no question that I will be a High Elf Wizard. If not, I'll be forced to be a Breton.

Anyways, help me solve my issue if you know and tell me about your character if you have one picked out already.

No, you can't choose what faction your race is apart of. Each faction is race locked: Aldmeri Dominon - Bosmer, Altmer, Khajiit - Daggerfall Covenant - Breton, Redguard, Orsimer - Ebonheart Pact - Dunmer, Nord, Argonian

Yes, you can see all of the faction zones, but only after you have finished your alliances main story line and then you can go to what they call 50+(+) content which is much harder versions of the other factions quests.

jk. I'll be a redguard. Only reason is because Nords are in a weird alliance. Dunmer and Argonian? ew.

lets be realistic. Nord - Redguard - Orc. No milk allowed. Only strong drink and good music.

Breton Paladin (Templar), mace and shield, heavy armor tank. Blonde and blue. Ex priestess of Mara. Name chosen but I'm not telling. Been playing her Skyrim incarnation a lot lately.

I'll have other characters of course. Already have most of them planned out too.

I'm still not 100 % sure what my race and class will be, I'm hoping for some kind of test build before release

I'm only decided on race (Argonian, my overall TES favorites) but for class and playstyle I will wait until I start the game and get a good feel of how it plays.
