Medieval Europe - Third Thread

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:03 am

How much people have worked on the city of london? I wonder if the project isn't too big for a few people.

I did everything alone... My project is perfectly scaled and it's going very well as it always did. Hence why I don't need a team. Anyway it was the last time I posted on this forum and I might just keep it for myself.

If you keep this mod for yourself i will not allow you to use all the stuff that i made for you.

Edit: If i may ask, why do you suddenly act so strange towards us?, like saying that we're idiots if we 'teach' (which we dont even do) you something, you must be pretty arrogant to say that

i'm kind of mythed at the fact i spent time finding bible resources and writing books, when i could of divereted my full attention at the skaven and Warhammer mod ive been planning. Shame

I'd still like this mod to be completed though, and id definetely download it, plus i get where bone collecter is coming from with his point

Thank you for your understandings coobster, you're still normal.... luckily. I guess the point is that he wants the credits all for himself, ughh leave him im going to spent my time usefull, instead of useless. I think he will keep this mod for himself.... to bad i was just beginning to like him
Yes, your time is wasted, the same counts for me. A entirely spilled Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday. What a waste. wish he could act normal.
I never seen a mod leader that acts like this to his team + you were very nice actually until yesterday, what a harsh shame....

hmmm...I am watching this thread for a while now...and I am still wondering how people could advertise such mods...
honestly I think it is not possible to create such a mod..not even with a big team....such a mod would mean....creating a huge resource pool or pack, creating a hightmap, creating and generating regions, creating the exteriors..(how many cities, villages and castles would you expect..I would say a lot more than in cyrodiil ), creating and decorating the interiors, creating NPC's ( how much would you need...far more the 1000 I would say)...create AI packs for all of them...this would be about 5000 packs or more....and then... writing quests, dialogues and scripts.....then probably voiceact the whole thing....write hundreds of unique books, letters etc etc etc....don't talking about creating unique new meshes, items and textures..lod meshes...lod textures....factions....playtesting ....and and and....

and it is not a question of modding skills...it is a simple question of time....

cheers

Actually I remember MTM mods from a year ago. Last time he announced 'The World'. No joke, he wanted to make the whole world (!) in different timelines (!!!). And the progress he had done was...tada...the Isle of Wight! Everyone said he could never do that (not even the whole gaming industry combined could do that), but he was stubborn and swore he would make it, no matter what everyone said. Now we are here, one year later. Still the Isle of Wight, only a different mod name. Of course no progress on his 'World' mod at all. This time it's medieval Europe? Only one timeline and one continent? Are we becoming modest now? Shame on you for insulting the people who wanted to help you! I hope they don't lose interest in modding or team work and keep learning so they can make some nice mods that become reality. See you next year, when you finally announce your 'The Isle of Wight' mod and maybe even release the two houses you've dropped on that barren island. Sorry for the rant, but people like that make me angry. I hope the former 'team' members move on and do something useful now.

I knew the name sounded familiar! Thanks for freshing up my memory!

Ah, well, anyone should read http://www.uesp.net/wiki/User:Wrye/Somewhat_Acerbic_Modders_Dictionary#H. Seriously. We got some of them from time to time. Sad but true.

I was but when i saw this and offered to help, i cut down the time i spent on the race i was creating therefore falling behind as the armors/weapons have been fully created

Yes valis, warhammer hehe :D i was going to try work on a mod for it. for now im thinking of having Ulthuan (High Elf Kingdom) then maybe introducing the mainland. Dont think ive based the mod on the MMO though, thats for refrences for locations and that, im using the table-top game as a full resource for working

Ill be glad to have your help! some extra help with come in handy ;)

Ill start exstensive work tommorow (GMT London) as i cant really concentrate atm, plus working out heightmap for Ulthuan is tricky :P Ive had some help from somebody (cant remember his name) who has textured and modelled some skaven warpstone stuff. Now I'd see if an Ulthuan Idea would kick off, ill get a thread for it done tommorw :)

Heh, the term hoax/tease modder (with exactly the same Wrye page in mind!) came to mind as soon as I saw the first thread from this project. Little to show and a plan more ambitious than any big game developer out there would dare to present. That and the obvious need to keep this topic on the first page by spamming it with unnessecary posts that belong either in a PM or a chat box, always makes me wary when seeing stuff like this. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is....

The people that got carried away and have contributed to this should just move along and have hopefully learned a lesson or two...

haha nice fun reading... I think the funny part of this is that right now, he is reading this and says to himself "oh I'm gonna show them that i can release this mod completely!" xD
Well good luck, but let me give you some good advice, try to get friends instead of making them hate you :)

Good luck on this project
