Crafting alts

Post » Wed Jan 08, 2014 10:57 pm

So we don't know a lot about the crafting in ESO but, we do know we can master all the professions and that it uses skill points to level. We also know that there are non crafting skills in each of the crafting trees that give us certain buffs associated with that profession. Such as better results when using potions from alcaemy etc.

So my question is do you plan to really craft on your main or maybe just level up the profession you want the non crafting skill in enough to get that skill? Then level just a crafting/mule/bank toon to do all the crafting you want to do?

This is I think what I will do. That way I can craft without reducing my skill point pool by taking to many non combat skills. Thoughts?

I plan to primarily focus on around 2 crafts, enchanting and alchemy, I will add skill points to these, once I'm at 50 and able to horizontally progress I may start adding to the others.

do we know for sure that skill points put into crafting will be the same that go towards skills? if so i feel like its a horrible system and i would never craft, easier to just buy it. then again how many points will we have? i mean i wont need to max all skill lines though i will want the morphs for the skills i do have. i will not reduce my skills just to take up crafting and i feel it should be a separate skill distribution system

Yeah it was in one of the recent interviews. I'm kind of torn on it. I like that it gives you more choices that have meaning but like you I don't want to cut myself short. On the other hand if the non crafting passive skills you get out of it are really nice it is something I will for sure do but just to get them. That's where my crafting alr will come in for all my crafting. Prolly have a Argonian slave for that lol.

From the way it was described regarding the heavy skill point requirement I will probably go with a crafting alt.

My main will go the provisioner route as it will probabbly be easier to master.Materials should be easy to get well until they implement the justice system.

The way they've designed it now, being able to put skill points in them, kind of moves towards you being able to master all of them if you wished, without the need of creating alts solely for crafting, which I think is a good idea, but again you have to reach a compromise, do you focus a chunk of your skill points in crafting and take a hit in combat? Well, your decision to make.
