i've already steal 3 aurene farethi chemical recipe for house hlaluu quest,but after i go back to balmora.the recipe is missing.i never sell it and i just keep it in my inventory

is it bug or because i get caught by guard after attemting pickpoket someone(not aurene and i already pay 25 gold for the fines)?
