Hide helmet option

Post » Thu Jan 09, 2014 4:44 am

First off I get that Skyrim is done with. No more updates.
But one thing I think would benefit this game is the ability to hide your helmet.
For those of you not understanding, there would be an option in settings called hidden helmet, and what it does, is let's you put on your helmet, get the armor rating bonus that comes with wearing a helmet, but the only thing missing is actually seeing the helmet on your character.
If you've ever played Dragon Age 2 I'm sure you'd know of this feature.

I would love this in Skyrim as I like not having a helmet on my character. It feels wierd how NPCs can spot you when you have a Daedric helmet on, and it also feels wierd walking around town with it. So I want to have my helmet hidden. Out of site but still boosting my stats.

Anyone else agree?

Dragon age 2 *Shudder*

I don't mind the helmet but, I think it's dumb that we don't actually have a helmet view while wearing one.

If you're on pc there are mods that let you hide your helmet, I think. One that allows circlets to count as helms.

I don't bother though. I take it off in town, put it on when I'm "out". It isn't a huge issue for me.

well it is not happening anyway, at least not without mods (most of which seek glitchy or broken)

I honestly have to agree, some of the helmets just do not fit my characters, or (especially with female characters) seeing them go from having a full head of hair to be bald is a bit jarring and it would be nice to be able to just hide the helmet.

At least some of you see where I'm coming from.
Regarding mods. I don't want to wear a circlet for my helmet.
Regarding those saying no, if they added this feature you wouldn't have to use it.

I'm not saying no, heck I always say "More options in game, the better" :)

I just want some kind of helmet view or something (How in the world does the wearer of daedric armor see?)

Ha, 15 bucks is the same price I paid xD (It's worth it for sure)

But coming off of DAO which is one of my favorite games of all time, DA2 was like...a huge step back and I couldn't even finish it (I was waiting to leave the city and go adventuring but..you know the rest xD)

Still, I'm hoping the next game brings back some of that DAO flavor.

Kinda off topic...so..

I don't like losing my hair when I wear a helmet in skyrim...pisses me off when my character turns into some bald chick xD so the no helmet option would work wonders there.

Ha my thoughts exactly.

If they made invisible helms, invisible armor, etc. then it takes much out of deciding form over function and ruins the purpose of wearing clothes. I don't like this idea and thankfully DA2 took notes from Skyrim, not the other way around ;)
