so i've been re-texturing walls, floors, rugs, etc. for a house mod I'm making. I'm currently using Photoshop and NifSkope to get these into the creation kit but I keep running into a huge problem. Once I've saved the .nif file (which has the updated texture .dds already assigned and the wall looks great) I make a duplicate static wall, rename it, give it the new model and I end up with that giant exclamation point in my face laughing at my hard work. Under model data is says "Marker_error:0" and I dont know what to do.
The same thing kept happening to my wood floors but somehow by doing the same process it worked out and can be imported into the creation kit. I'd do the walls over again but 1) it took a while and 2) if I dont know what I'm doing wrong, I'll keep running into this problem.
(edit) My process.
1. Copy the textures I need from the archive and put them into a folder under textures in the data file.
2. Copy the meshes I need (same as above)
3. Rename them all (so I don't go replacing every model in Skyrim
4. Bring the textures into photoshop, make changes, "save as" to replace the .dds files.
5. Hop into Nifskope and apply the textures to various parts of the wall. "Save as" to replace the .nif file.
6. Duplicate the wall that I used as a template in creation kit, apply the new model data.
7. Cry at exclamation point.
any help is appreciated.
