I'm starting a new character and would like some opinions on which race to use.I despise elves so they are out of the question.like the topic suggests I'm going for archer/assassin type and would like opinions please.

Any race in skyrim will do.

But since you don't like elves, pick a lizard or a cat.

Pick Argonian if you want to play by the book or pick a nasty ORC if you want to be cool

I went with an Argonian named Maax.
