Uhh, why wouldn't you? It's not that uncommon to come across either of those.


On Topic: This is pretty bad, hopefully things can get cleaned up in a prompt manner, I know several people in that area. Still, at least bottled water is plentiful nowadays.

Anise is quite common in many types of food and has a highly distinctive smell. Licorice is also quite common, especially since black licorice is a pretty unforgettable smell and taste. Like concentrated anise.

Why wouldn't they be familiar with them?
