I recently bought the entire Dishonored game including DLC (I usually never buy a game when it first comes out but will wait until it goes on sale on Steam and gets good reviews) and I have to say I've fallen in love with this game. I finished it and all the DLC a few weeks ago and I'm starting it over again. I haven't been this hooked on a game in ages. I love Corvo! And Samuel, too! and when the climix of the game happened (no spoilers) I was so upset I actually cried after screaming NOOOOOO!!!!. I was so upset I had to walk away from my computer and go and calm down! Did not see that one coming at all! The story is fantastic so thank you writers! As for the gameplay I love the stealth system and the variety of weapons. I've been a fan of sleep darts since the first Deus Ex game. The scenery is also spectacular and very immersive. I'm an English history nut and when I saw the river in Dishonored I was blown away - it was so like the 'olde London' I have imagined. I found out later that the designer based it on London during the fire of 1666. And to see the bridge with housing on it like the old London bridge! Wow! It was like going back in time.
The Whale processing factory in Knife of Dunwall was absolutely horrifying - that poor whale, those chainsaw carrying butchers - aaahhhhgggg! I'm still having nightmares. It was so real looking I could almost smell the blood and fish! I don't usually get squeamish in games but this setting really got to me.
Just wanted to let you guys know how much I enjoyed this game and am hoping desperately that you will continue on with Corvo or another cool guy in Dishonored 2. (Daud was okay but you didn't feel for him like you did for Corvo - this is from a just turned 60 year old woman's perspective - yes we are out there playing games!) Was glad that you expanded the amount of sleep darts you could buy in K of D but you took away Possession - one of my favorite supernatural abilities - possess them, walk to a safe place, then immediately choke the crap out of them. I love it.
I'm a great fan of Bethesda games (Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, New Vegas, etc.) and this is right up there with those gems). So Thank-you Arkane Studios and Bethesda again. More Dishonored, please!
