Region Generator Specific Music Broken?

Post » Mon Jan 13, 2014 10:16 am

Hi all I am trying to add specific custom music for each region in my worldspace mod I have set up the MUStrack and MUStype correctly. THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE. I open the region generator and choose my region ( which I have previously generated objects in). I click on the sound Tab. I chooses enable this type of data. I select my custom music from the drop down menu and set the priority to 1. I save my esp. But when I travel to the region i set up custom music for the default vanilla music just plays instead. Do I have to generate all my objects again just to apply the music to the region? Anyone got this figured out yet???

The objects have nothing to do with the music. What I think the problem is is that you have the priority wrong - 100 is the highest priority that a music can have, whereas 1 is the lowest. Your music is likely being overridden by the vanilla music set in your worldspace data. In the Tamriel worldspace, most regions have a priority between 50-55.

Every online source I have read says the opposite that 1 is the highest priority and 100 is the lowest. But I will try just to check

From the CK wiki: "Priority: An integer between 0 and 100 that decides which region will have its current data type take effect in overlapping areas. Higher numbers mean stronger precedence"

Sure, the conventional definition of priority says that the lower the number, the higher the priority, but that doesn't mean the CK handles it the same way.

The CK is actually a mix. I believe with music, the lower the better. For example, combat music is like 1 or 2 because it overrides everything when it's called upon. Whereas the 100 priority music (Does any even exist?) would only be played if nothing else was yet.

However priority with 'objects' in the region generator is reversed. It's a bit confusing as I said, the CK seems to randomly flip-flop all over the place between "Priority level 1" being High King of Skyrim, or a surf working the farm. Each area is randomly different.

I could have sworn that the GECK and CK both had their region music set up so that 100 was the highest priority. It's been a while since I've had to mess with that, though, so I suppose I could be wrong. :P

Just tried setting the sound tap with priority 100 still does not make any difference on examining tamriels regions music does not seem to be set up this way as every region that has sound data enabled has "DEFAULT" selected in the drop down menu and a bunch of random AMB sounds set up. Perhaps you can not assign music to entire regions? Maybe it has to be done cell by cell?

You can assign music by regions, and many regions in Tamriel do so to make use of their respective music types. For example, WeatherTundra has MUsixploreTundra as it's music type.

Also, you do have "Override" selected, right?
