If you have time, give it a read. Pretty fascinating.

LOL

I find any IGN article difficult to read since i really hate IGN since its trash Murdoch media, but storytelling in past, present and future will always suffer because people will always purchase a game no matter how bad the story is, their is nothing to encourage better storytelling when people are eating up pulp trash, and when people complain en masse they are just feral trash, so whether you type out a well worded article explaining how bad stories are and all the reasons why, it'll never make a difference when dollars flow, then mediocre stories will be fodder for the masses.

Anywho, what is their to really discuss? Yeah, story telling in video games is getting better. That's what things that are advancing tend to do. Get better in every aspect. Are people going to find new ways to tell a story? Duh.

I didn't read the entire article, as it was written in a way where it seemed out of focus, so maybe I missed something. Assuming I haven't, however, is this really what IGN pays its writers to produce? A zombified squirrel's ass could have told me that storytelling in video games was advancing. It's been advancing since the day the first video game with a story had been made.

If I am missing something, this will be my second consecutive post where I make myself look like an idiot.
