AI givng me fits.

I never thought that I would do any serious modding, but I have actually managed to create something that I would like to share. The problem is the npc characters in the exterior cells just seem to be there some of the time and not there at other times. I have them all tied to markers and think [ok assume that I have the AI package set properly] as the ones in interior cells seem to do what I want.

Any suggestions, I can put the file up and you can have a look at it and tell me where I am going awry or fix the esp and send it back to me. I would give credit for the assistance either way. Not a big file 22mb and I promise you will enjoy having a go at my first mod. The only think left to do is finish the dialogue and add voice and lip sync files. But this AI issue is giving me pause, so I am asking for help.

The mod itself is built, but the actors are kicking my butt.

1. Do the NPCs switch between interiors and exteriors or cover a large area in the exterior? If so, do they have low level processing enabled? Once an actor without low level processing gets out of the loaded area his AI won't be processed anymore. So if he is in an interior and you are in an exterior he will stay in his interior until you get there and 'enable' his AI.

2. If you have a new worldspace or altered the landscape of an existing worldspace, did you generate/correct the pathgrid? Without path nodes (or with faulty nodes below or above the terrain) the actors might get stuck or behave weird.

Yes low level processing is enabled.

Pathgrid may be the issue...not sure how so I am off to check the wiki.

I have not encountered them in the interior cells that I created. They just are there sometimes and not others....I will look at what you are referring to and see if that fixes things. So I will check the low level processing and have a go at the pathgrids. Although all I want them to do is sit in quiet contemplation until an intruder comes in, then kill the interloper.

I don't like those that cheat their way in, so I am making it a little costly.

Let me know if you want a preview and I will send you a link.
