So I've seen some of the official gameplay videos, and the spells honestly just look ridiculous. Growing dragon wings and leaping into the air, calling a magic banner to fall from the sky and buff you, aedric spear, it all just feels so unnatural. I don't remember seeing or hearing about this in Morrowind, Oblivion, or Skyrim. It just doesn't fit. Just because it's an MMO, doesn't mean we need ridiculous, un-Elder Scrollsy spells. What do you guys think about this?

I don't remember seeing any shock spells in Elder Scrolls until Oblivion came out. Feels very un-Elder Scrolls'y.

I would not be so purist, it is game for people not realistic Tamriel implementation.

I'm pretty sure there were shock spells in Morrowind, if I remember correctly. And i'm not being a purist, I'm just saying that the spells feel slightly ridiculous. I know ESO is an MMO, but I don't think the MMO type spells really fit into the lore. I couldn't Imagine playing Skyrim or Oblivion and deciding to summon a giant glowing spear for 5 seconds that auto attacks for me in a rapid succession of stabs, then disappears.

Bah, just remembered how much fun I actually had with shock in the past games. I really am getting old, aren't I?
