I was wandering around and discovered the place, NPC's seemed suspicious so i went around and investigated more, i went inside a basemant in the dry goods store, anyways long story short, i found the lizard that was being kept hostage. agreed to help her and escorted her back to her mother, just like the quest said. but now im stuck, her mother wont say anything or acknowledge that i saved her daughter. the lizard that i saved wont say anything either. and the quest isnt updating any more. i went back to Hackdirt hoping to find something there, but everyone have disappeared. is this all bugged? i avoided checking the quest on UESP, hoping that i can still finish the quest without reading spoilers. sigh..

Did you make sure to click on Seed-Neeus' "Missing Daughter" topic?

That's because you never got the quest from her mother in the first place, so she never told you about her "Missing Daughter." See if "Missing Daughter" is available as a dialog topic with the mother, and choose it (even if it's no longer highlighted.) That should advance the quest.

its not in there as an option. so the quest was supposed to be started by talking to the mother first? great.

It doesn't have to start that way. That's just the usual way.

What's the last entry in your journal on this quest?

"I have agreed to help Dar-Ma escape. She asked me to carry word to her mother, Seed-Neeus of Chorrol, if she does not survive the attempt"

I can't look up the command right now, but there might be a way to add the topic to her mother's topic list.

Otherwise, you can reload and talk to her mother before going to Hackdirt.

Did you walk back with DAr Ma into the shop? You need to go a bit into the shop to get the quest to update that you saved her.

Yes, both of them were inside the shop.

I completed the quest by setting the stage to 100, didnt understand how the quest finished. but at least its not stuck in my journal anymore.

Whats the business with Hackdirt anyway? some sort of secret cult?

You should go back and explore the place.....

Also, you get a nice Mercantile boost from the shopkeeper for completing this quest the normal way.

I have had trouble with completing the quest with both of them standing in the shop and not saying anything. I can't remember what I did to unstick it, but I think I had to talk to Dar Ma again once in the shop before talking with her mother.
