Curious about Dremora summoning?

Post » Tue Jan 14, 2014 10:17 pm

After I have played through my last game, until level 52, WITHOUT dragging 2 tonnes of crap of every dungeon and then slowly walking home for 20 irl minutes. I made it!

Level 52 and only one time I dragged crap fo 7 minutes, that was to grab all crap in the Morthal house and send it to Solitude. But not once from dungeons, so I'm healed of that addiction and have 100k and all houses (except Hjerim, where I never get the chance to buy it, even if guards are telling me, no option from the Jarl or the other guy)

Nevermind, I'm in a position where I can finally conjure Dremora Lords. I never thought of "cheating", but yesterday when I was at skill 72 in Con, I decided to get the 75 in Con. Sitting on a cliff taunting a frost-troll for half an hour and I levelled up and got my Dremora Lord. He've got a "little" more punch than the atronarchs, so I'm happy. Always forgot the Sanguine Rose, when I looked through my chests 20 levels ago, I couldn't find the staff that summoned these creatures. But I don't really want to use the Rose.

All because of a physical handicap of not knowing what really is going on ----> Too many beers! :)

Anyways, I read about proper mage-builds and since I'm old and slow, I always play these games cheesy on adept level.. Like my current sneaky archer, I just love him. But he needs a little break as the game is coming to it's conclusion and I played him well. Haven't even been to Riften yet!!! Just doing the holds quests as I walk past them and only explored half of the map, always on foot. So no fast travel.

This leads me to create a new char, a pure mage. But since my reflexes really are bad, I'm not sure atronarchs will keep me safe, plus I hate having followers. Then I figured, can I do a cheesy thing again and get up to 75 in Conjuration and then having a proper bodyguard, without having me kiting for my life until the end of time? I will only put 1 point in Sneak and 1 in Onehanded, so I have the smallest chance to survive, before I try my pathetic escaping tactics. Everything else will go into the Magic-schools and all points into Magicka.

So at what level can you conjure a Dremora whatever, I know they scale?

Is it possible to buy that spell before lvl 10-15?

I'll play with only Mage-robes and circlets, no standard armor at all.

I understand this will be a tough build for a lousy player, but I just want to try.

The Dremora Lord isn't leveled, you're thinking of the one from Sanguine's Rose.

No you can't buy the spell at 10-15, that's ridiculous. Since 'Conjure Dremora Lord' is an Expert level spell, you can buy from the Conjuration expert at the CoW once you're level 65.

Thank you for the link Shadow, I was more referring to player level, not Con-level.

So basically what you say, I can buy that spell at level 5 as char, IF my Conjuration is 65?

If that's true, I love this cheesy idea even more! :) Of course I understand the spellcost, but that can be sorted out later.

Pretty much. Although if you really want to exploit spamming bound dagger, you can probably get there at level 16-17 ( I did once, sadly).

Why sadly?

And I believe it's possible to be more radical to just get it before lvl 10, onle Con, nothing else.

I guess you could technically. I'm not sure what a level 65 in Conjuration only translates to your overall level. Even then, you still won't be able to cast it since it apparently costs 358 Magicka to do so.

Getting to 65 CON requires a little over 2000 xp (1800 for a Breton) which is level 10 at least with no other points.

I said sadly because spamming (whether it's bound sword, soul trap or muffle) messes up the natural progression for me. If you don't feel that way, go for it; it's your game. I would point out that at level 12, a lot of enemies take a step up in class and even a Dremora Lord at your side may not help if you're otherwise helpless.

Less really. Just by getting to 65 skill you get about a 24% reduction so with perks the total cost should be about 135 magicka.

I see your point Fragonard, enemy levelling can/will be tricky here without proper sneak.

But: "Less really. Just by getting to 65 skill you get about a 24% reduction so with perks the total cost should be about 135 magicka." You just made my day, mate!

My archer has progressed so naturally, he doesn't even know more than 200 locations, or something like that. He didn't jump on every little message he got, just did quests in the holds and still he ends up at lvl 52 with 100 sneak and 100 archery. around 50-70 in other skills, except magic. Only conjuration was there for him, so the others are in their 20-30s.

It doesn't matter, if it gets too hard or boring later on, I just want to try. It can teach me alot of the magic skills that I've ignored so far so it will be a learning-game after all.

IF I succeed getting a dremora by lvl 10, I can more safely explore the other schools. I just need a break from my archer and I can't handle the warrior style. I will just give it a try and if it evolves as I want to, THAT is the Dragonborn I always wanted to play.

Thanks for your insight!
