Hello all, proud new player of Skyrim. However i am having a very frustrating issue. I set the key bindings to favor the way I played Oblivion - right mouse button to move forward, left mouse button to activate things, thumb button to attack, et cetera. However, i found that when I would enter a crafting mode, ANY crafting mode (smithing, cooking, etc) that the game would freeze completely. I would get a menu saying, "Are you sure you want to make "X"" but I could not click on or activate anything. I had to ctrl-alt-delete and close using task manager. I chalked it up to it taxing my computer, but let the computer rest and came back. It happened again. No issue with talking to someone, fighting, et cetera, but when i entered a crafting menu, it would lock up. It happened four more times before I figured out that the key bindings were doing something. I put the bindings back to default...and it fixed the issue of crashing, but I find the default key bindings incredibly unwieldy and I cannot keep from drawing my stupid sword as i'm used to using that button to run.
I am not using any addons at this time. I am using a fresh install of the Legendary Edition which installed successfully. My mouse and keyboard are both Alienware Tact-X. My system runs Skyrim fine. It's just the key bindings.
Has anyone else had this issue? How did you get Skyrim to safely allow you to use your own key bindings? The game was going perfectly for me until this, and the default key bindings do not work for me.
Thank you for any help you can provide!
