How many cells do you set with MGE?

That's how my game runs. A moment of stutter when loading a new cell. Very brief but it is there.

I have 32GB to be sure the full thing gets loaded into RAM, lots of RAM Is a really good upgrade imo, especially since it doesnt cost that much nowadays.

@Coolshady: you're right, the towns are always more demanding, i usually don't get that good FPS there, not at 50 cells  How i generate the distant textures doesnt matter, highest or lowest, it has no effect on performance, but yeah they always look kind of ugly.

@starwarsguy: Right, vingette often looks quite nice.. never tried the gamme correction shader.

But even with the 4GB Patch applied, Morrowind can never use more than that, or am I wrong? Besides, the distant land files (on my installation) only make up about 100 MB, so RAM should not really be the issue here, even if you would increase world texture and normal map resolution as well as reduce the min distant static size.

Of course, your graphics card and processor would increase performance, even though in cities, fps will always be lower.
