I got Skyrim recently and was about to play it so I pressed new game to star a new game and it just stayed there with the logo and the music but nothing else. Please help cause I really want to play it today. Also I read somewhere how u need to download patches but u need a playstation plus membership. I don't have a playstation plus membership and don't want to get one so could someone please help me without having to get a playstation plus membership. Thx

You do not need PS+ to download patches. Just an internet connection.

Also, do you have any DLC? Go to "Game Data Utility" and delete "Skyrim" and "Skyrim Update".

Then pop in Skyrim and you should be prompted to download the patch. If you have an internet connection.

Just delete your skyrim, and install it again. Something is gone wrong, in your first game installation.

Actually you could play it and without patch.

But it's advisable to download the latest patch. As Shadow_Titan17 say, if you have an internet connection, the patch should be prompted to download when you put in the disk and press install.
