I played final fantasy 11 online on xbox 360.

I was interested to see an mmo on a console.

I did however buy a usb keyboard for all my chatting needs.

My question is this would a player be able to use keyboard and mouse plugged into the xbox one or ps4?

Or just plug keyboard in to type in chat.

It is definitely a possibility, but this game is just going to be better with a game pad, it's halfway between Skyrim and Guild Wars 2. FFXIV is actually built exactly in the older style click and cooldown combat and even it is just way more fun with a gamepad. Ya FF11 wanst that good with it but they did what they could with that design. As long as ZOS is developing a very intuitive control scheme like SE did for FFXIV on the ps3 it will just be much more immersive with a gamepad. I really hope they give it a chance on PC at launch, I don't think I can go back to mouse and keyboard.

well, considering xb1 and ps4 have party chat systems....and eso is being specifically designed differently for consoles, you should be fine =)

Mouse and KEyboards are completely superior in terms of actually playing the game, it has been proven again and again.

There is nothing in this game that they have to be superior with. It is just simple more fun and immersive, there is no other aspect in the game where the two styles are even in competition.

ESO is being developed for console with a completely different UI specifically tailored to game pads. So, no, keyboard will not be superior for console version. It would be.....awkward.
