Minimap - Yes or No

Post » Fri Jan 17, 2014 2:36 am

Do you hope to see an optional minimap in game? There seems to be some debate on this topic. Traditional ES players say they prefer and overhead compass layout, while the average MMO vet seems to lean towards having a minimap. Personally, I would like to see an option to choose from either or both.

If you were in any beta, please keep the NDA in mind if you post on this topic.

I don't see the need for a minimap provided that you can have the standard game map up at the same time as moving around.

Nope, not in the slightest. In fact, I loathe the idea of a compass, with red dots and other tells that I don't care for. Here's hoping that there is a toggle option for that. I want a completely blank UI.

... Gopher's iHUD has spoiled me forever.

I think that's the idea. During the dungeon demonstration, I noticed that the magicka, health and stamina bars were only ever appearing when they were being depleted, and then disappeared again when full.

I agree no minimap, I don't mind the compass however, use to it from Skyrim. but I don't want a large minimap with dots all over it, glowing dots, different shaped signs etc etc. i am getting more excited based upon leaked comments, I know I am horrible lol. But hey they have been waiting till last minute I only hope it captures me.

I saw that. I love the whole "there when you need it, hidden when you don't". Which happens to be the catchphrase for iHUD... lol

Now... as far as the compass? I could play without it all together. However, a hot key set to toggle it would be nice for those that want it.

No minimap please :-D
The pointer (like in Skyrim) is good enough.

The compass is fine, there is no need for a minimap, it only clutters things up more than they need to be.

No minimap, I like how we have paper maps again, its so much nicer, and it looks really neat when there is a huge group of people standing around sifting through their bags, and looking at maps =P.
