The Worst parts of Elderscrolls games are...

So the worst parts of the past 3 Elderscrolls games are, individually...

For Morrowind I chose, personally, the AI. Or non existent AI more like. Can't chase you through doors without a mod, can't use anything without a mod, even merchants equip random stuff you sell them without a mod.

For Oblivion it was the combat, what a snore fest. Not that Skyrim or Morrowind were better, but just that it somehow stuck out for me the most.

For Skyrim it was the world design. It was beautiful, and generic, and hollow. The conceit of other Elderscrolls, that you were in a real world rather than a video game playpen, was ditched. The dungeons were linear and obviously "levels" the cities were still a loading morass of tinyness, there were barrels I couldn't open just because, objects I couldn't pick up for no reason, etc.

Just my opinions, what are yours?

I love all three games, but I voted combat as Morrowind's weak point, writing as Oblivion's (weakest of the three imo, but the guilds and Shivering Isles were really good), and quests as Skyrim's.

Morrowind - Combat: no player skill involved AT ALL.

Oblivion - World design: generic generic and more generic and even more generic.

Skyrim - Writing: you are the super-duper-hero, you have to kill the badazz-evil-guy; welcome to the guild, you are now officially our master; go fetch this in that dungeon; "no lollylaggin'".

Level scaling was Oblivion's biggest problem, which option does it fall under?

The worst part of Morrowind: You can't swim a half inch without being terrorized by slaughterfish.

The worst part of Oblivion: Face textures.

The worst part of Skyrim: "Have you seen a dog out there?"

I do agree with this though...

Still I rather wait 4 years for something good, than 1 year for something not worth playing
