So I was interested in seeing the statistics for this after seeing something similar done for ES. How do you name your player in Fallout titles, is the lore deep enough to inspire you to name yourself something unique? Personally I always use my name (always have since I was very young, just a tradition that stuck with me).

Most of my play throughs I use my own name.

But recently I've been using non Fallout driven names. They are the names of character's in a series I'm creating. Their names I chose are the characters hometowns.

I'm about to create a my first lore-named character in NV called Benjamin Clark.

What is the difference between a lore-specific and non lore-specific name?

lore-specific could be like naming an imperial in elder scrolls a roman name like (ex. tullius or dexion) or something along the lines of what dirty mutant posted above for Fallout.

Non-lore specific is naming your character Walter White or such, something you made up off the top of your head, nothing to do with fallout.

First playthrough I name as myself and play through the game with my choices. The next playthroughs are usually non-lore specific; Fury, War, Ruin, Lux, Calamity, Lumina, etc. Though I do have some lore specific names (TES examples as theyre the only ones I can think of atm); Walks-With-Death, Einhar Lodbrok, and Do'Ja. Really depends on whatever I'm in the mood for.
