So, did the mystery get solved?

Just as a matter of interest, does anybody remember the rumours circulating several months ago relating to this "hidden" questline relating to the Keening blade, finding sunder and revealing some sort of secret dwemer tomb? The rumour was quite extravagant in my opinion, and as far as im aware, despite it being very hotly debated for several weeks no hard proof of anything vaguely related to it came about. After this it seems to of been ignored. Im always incredibly sceptical whenever something like this occasionally gains precedence, because the chances of anything so much as a hidden skeever, let alone dwemer world, are about nill.

Was just wondering if anything further has been found on the matter.

It was a hoax.

Any such quest or locations would have been discovered in the CK within the first few months.

It's a mystery to me why anyone would make up hidden questlines or items when millions of people have access to the Creation Kit and can instantly verify every such rumor.

Because people don't understand that. I tried explaining it to someone once; just once. They kept insisting "there is no way you can know everything they did when they made the game." If it is in the game, it is in the creation kit/construction kit and someone will find it.

I remember how annoyed one poster got back in the Morrowind/Tribunal period when he kept trying to spin a story about treasure chests that weren't there and npcs that didn't exist. People kept telling him none of the stuff was in the game. He finally left in a huff because no one would fall for it.

It's a side quest for Arniel Gane from the College of Winterhold.

I didn't hear about that; I did hear about the mod that adds bigfoot though.

No, this poster came up with a convoluted "secret" quest and quest-giver that was supposed to guide you to treasure chests in near Seyda Neen with uber weapons and a lot of gold. Kind of like how you had to do certain things to get Goldbrand. Of course, Goldbrand is in the game, but none of the stuff he was trying to pass off as real was; not even in mods.

Well yeah. Someone got Keening, and then got Sunder. And then the person who had Sunder did something. Not sure what it was but that person, Sunder, and the quest chain itself utterly vanished moments later.
