How to create NEW HD versions of vanilla textures?

Post » Sun Jan 19, 2014 6:08 pm

Hi.

I'm fairly new to this, but I'd like to start creating some of my own HD texture packs. My goal is to recreate the original vanilla textures with improved resolution, but I would like to retain the original look, same pattern, same color/saturation, except in higher detail, with more definition, higher resolution, etc. Basically, how to recreate textures in HD

I know about upscaling images and sharpening, but that's not what I want. Is there any way of recreating the same or similar texture without having to literally re-draw it? What techniques can you suggests for me?

Thanks in advanced.

Well, that is gonna be very tricky. How do you create something from nothing. I'm no Aedra, so I can't do it.

Either Bethesda releases those same textures in Ultra High Definition or you upscale the textures which doesn't look very good according to me anyway, or you photograh the same textures yourself and ridding any copyright issues at the same time.

Thanks for the reply. So, I guess I will have to redo them from scratch then. Anyone know of any good/free sites for textures?
