ESO PvP? Wha?

Post » Mon Jan 20, 2014 3:09 pm

Slightly shocking a single person rpg would go so heavily into PvP related endgame. I have no problem with people who love to PvP. Don't get me wrong. Just not for me. But is anyone else a little concerned that it is so close to launch and endgame PvE is drawing an absolute blank in the info department? Yes, dungeons, gaining more skill pts, etc. But no info on adventure zones and large group content. I check the latest news every day just to find a nugget of truth on the subject and I'm getting...antsy. lol. This will make or break the game for me in the end. Regardless...I hope everyone enjoys their stay in Tamriel come April.

I think everyone kind of feels the same way. There is no information yet on adventures zones and group dungeons.

That being said, I'd much rather they focus their final efforts on fully addressing beta feedback and polishing rather than giving us nuggets of information. That is what is going to make the difference.

I'm not a huge advocate of PvP, but I do take part in it. However, I am more of a sociable player. I like to play with a group and just chat while enjoying a game. Sometimes the group goes into PvP and I go with them.

So you have not read that the other faction territories will open up once you hit level 50 ?

Along with those will be harder dungeons and more areas that are unlocked within them. Also the ones you have visited in your own alliance will have new areas to explore.

The faction war is a huge thing in TESO and its no wonder they are pushing it, but there is still 2 months to go for them to release the information about adventure zones. We know they are in the game just not sure what they are yet.

Give pvp a try in TESO it will be very different to what you expect or are use to. I hate pvp in other mmo's ( apart from Eve Online ) but I loved the system in DAoC and this game will relight that fire for me. i can't explain the feeling you get when your realm has captured a relic and made it safely back to your keep. Some really epic days back then before EA messed it up with expansion packs.

I'm sure they'll talk about Adventure Zones soon.

We already know about master dungeons, 50+, 50++, continued character progression, ect.

Also, people who don't usually like PvP might just find themselves changing their mind in this game. Its a persistent war with meaning (not e-sports) and Cyrodiil is a full-fledged zone with quests, dungeons, ect.

I feel the same way OP. I'm getting tired of the comunity saying not to worry about the PvE; because PvP will be awesome.

*edit*

I'll explain: We don't love TES for the PvP, and we don't want to play a TES MMO for the PvP. PvP is nice and all, but it's not what we came for. There is only one place to get an online TES experience, and if ESO doesn't deliver it, then nothing will.

Personally I'm not concerned (as another mostly-PvEer). While it's true we don't have a lot of info yet about Adventure Zones, we know there's a 200+ hour single player campaign to get to level 50... in EACH of the three factions... so the way I see it, that's 600 hours of gameplay. If it turns out that I play three alts to 50 and the endgame svcks, I have gotten my money's worth already and will simply quit, after the year or so that takes

However, we DO know what kind of effort they've put into the pre-50 PvE game, and I promise you it is far better than the PvE play in other MMOs. So really, I doubt very much adventure zones will svck  They do not hate PvEers and they have not been ignoring PvEers. There is plenty of evidence of that.

Elder Scrolls games certainly aren't about raiding either. There's never been raids in any TES game.

There have however been wars (Skyrim Civil War for example) and lots of books written about wars.

This whole "PvP isn't Elder Scrolls" thing is bunk. Multiplayer has never been in a TES game period, so its silly to single out anyone multiplayer feature as "not TES enough" compared to any other.

You already know plenty about questing and exploring, which have always been what TES is about. Coincidentally, that's a huge part of ESO's end game. 50+ and 50++.

Opposite, they was originally not planned at launch but it got bumped up in priority, probably as many was concerned about end game content.
It look like end game content is an common reason for MMO to fail.
7 four man level 50 dungeons at launch, yes many are probably like WOW legendary dungeons, upscale version of lower level ones.
