Again, not thinking about all the countries that don't use the ESRB rating.

I do hope this makes them more bold when dealing with Molag Bal content.
He IS the king of surprise [censored], after all.

Make him evil, reviling and twisted, the way he should be. Don't turn into Mehrunes Dagon the second...

Snipped so I don't have to edit. Just want to be friendly and point out that the moderators might view that as you trying to dodge the censor.

Agreed here aswell, since they got the M rating now it would only benefit the game not to hold back on things they did tone down for a younger rating.

Ya they can certainly leave that bit out.

Doesn't mean he has to stay exactly the same though. They can still play up the torture and cruelty a bit, even leaving that other part out.

Quick question. I'm not familiar with the vast realms of MMO's, but is there another subscription based popular MMO that is rated M?

Just curious if this will be the first large-population M-rated Subscription-based MMO.

edit: had to put more qualifiers on that statement, lol

edit edit: lol= laugh out loud, not league of legends

I'm really glad the game got an M rating, it shows the seriousness of ESO :) Even though the developers disagree? Hmm...

And who really cares about the ESRB? Does anyone other than strict Christian or Mormon parents even look at the rating? >.<

And I disagree with you.

Basically I want them to stick with their development schedules. So that they can make the most polished game possible. And not worry about changing content too much before release.

Just my 2¢ worth.

Well there certainly where one or two quests during the beta which somewhat would justify M rating - due to nda though I cant go into details :-/

So maybe justified? and certainly good that they stick to their vision and not try to challenge it and remove such content.

Mormons are Christians, just saying.

Anyways this is good for the dark brotherhood as well! Now they can make as sadistic as they please.

Well, it's how it's always been. It doesn't have to be explicit, but to COMPLETELY write that aspect of Molag out of the lore?
He had kids with Vivec, for goodness's sake.

So far Molag Bal seems like a direct [but purple!!] copy of Dagon to me, what with the plan to merge realms because rawwwr destruction, Tamriel is mine.
They might as well have just used Dagon...

Unless you're one of those new players who don't care about estabilished lore.

They disagree because they were aiming for a T rating. Ratings don't determine the seriousness of their work, or the game.

I do! It determines whether or not I have to pull out ID. :/ But I do buy games for younger relatives, and reference the ESRB rating to make sure it's age appropriate or suitable for their maturity.

I got bad news - your relatives will find another source of game supply (unless they can read already).

Assumptions arent a great way to make friends

Yes lore is important with the elder scrolls universe BUT with this particular game wanting to attract a broader spectrum of players i think its best of things like that are mentioned more subtle.. it doesnt ruin the lore one bit and it doesnt completely offend anyone Win/win

Gee, a succubus/inccubus npc at some point in the story who'd try to sway you to the dark side would be good, and they don't exactly have to be obscene. I can think of some T-rated mmo's where they appear and work just fine.
It would show Molag Bal's nature and cunning.

So far he just seems like another meathead god into senseless destruction like Mehrunes, with the twist that he prefer purple over crimsom red.

Mormons are different than Christians; they have an entirely different book call THE BOOK OF MORMON that the Christians don't believe in. Joseph Smith is their profit, they believe that the first humans lived in North America... You get the idea, they are different.

Oh, I know. I don't live under a rock. Heh heh. And it's not like I rarely or never visit them, so I know how much access they have to games, what they're interested in, and what is beyond their comfort level.

I don't mind them playing games that are rated higher than their age, as I've done so, too. If I know they can handle it, I'd buy M rated games for them if they want any. Heck, I just recently lent my copy of GTA5 to a 15 year old relative.

Cut out the real life religious references please, and hopefully all parents who consider the upbringing of their children will take notice of the rating.
