The M rating is a blessing in my opinion and the developers should embrace it by adding more blood effects. Make combat feel visceral!

How about we let them make the game they want to make and not cave either way on the rating?
Adding more blood and gore doesn't make the game anymore mature.
So, no.
My thoughts are that the existing thread is still on the first page (right at the top actually) so this could have gone there.
Other than that, I kinda sorta agree. I don't want ludicrous gore and six just for the sake of it, but I do think more mature content where appropriate adds to the emoitional connection you make with the game.
As it does nothing to add to gameplay, story, and if anything, is LESS mature............how about.........NO.
That they might push it too far and wind up with a even more restrictive rating.
im sory but thats incorect. an "A" rating is applied if they go over a certain amount of realism and blood and gore.
example is in the "A" rating description
-
A rating
advltS ONLY
Content suitable only for advlts ages 18 and up. May include prolonged scenes of intense violence, graphic sixual content and/or gambling with real currency.
EDIT: i dont know if there is an XXX rating for online multiplayer games.
I don't see how adding blood would make the combat visceral.
What's the point? How does adding more blood add to the game?
i vote, just let the devs make the game they want. no need to just throw in more blood and guts for no reason. people are already saying "great its M add nudity" i mean wtf?
because it can get seriously realistic. and i mean very relistic to the point you think its real.
Um...that's not what I am talking about. I'm not talking about Maturity on a scale that the ESRB determines. Just because a game is rated "Mature" doesn't mean it is actually a very mature game. I love the Saint's Row games, but the last two I would NEVER state to be "mature" games even though they have the Mature rating to them.
Adding gore, blood, nudity, drugs, and alcohol for no reason other than to just add them doesn't make a game any more "realistic." Sorry, but the rating a game gets doesn't determine how "real" it is.
Opposite really, all it does is make it LESS realistic, and seriously more idiotic and MUCH less mature.
Wait, so you are telling me that being able to cut limbs off with a single swing and blood spurting everywhere (ala Spartacus) isn't REALISTIC?!?!
BLASPHEMY!!!
